2026 Mvskoke Language Adult Camp

We’re excited to announce that registration is now open for our upcoming online Mvskoke Language Classes. These classes are designed to help learners of all levels.

Classes are on Monday (12:00 PM CST), Wednesdays (6:30 PM CST), and Friday (12:00 PM CST).

The Mvskoke Language Program is now accepting registration for the 3rd annual Mvskoke Opunvkv Etohkvlketv! This year's 5-day camp will take place July 6th - July 10th at the Sequoyah Lodge in Hulbert, OK. This camp is designed for dedicated second-language learners who already have a foundation and are committed to strengthening their Mvskoke language skills through immersive learning and daily conversations with fellow Mvskoke Opunvkv second-language learners as well as the first-language speaking Mvhayvlke within the department.

Requirements:

Participant must be 18 years of age or older

Must be an enrolled Mvskoke citizen

Must have a strong interest in speaking and using the Mvskoke language

All applicants must submit a recommedation from a first-language speaker to be considered (it is preferred that the speaker cannot be an MCN employee.)

Applicants must have attended at least one of the program's monthly Opunvkv Kerreyat Ipunkerrepvs (Learner Circles)
-
Preference will be given to learners who demonstrate active participation, commitment to language learning, and conversational language ability.

Mvskoke Language Camp
We are excited to announce that the Mvskoke Language Revitalization Program will be hosting the 2026 Mvskoke Language Camp, taking place June 8–12, 2026, at Sequoyah State Park. This five-day camp is open to students entering 7th–12th grade who are enrolled members of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation and have an interest in learning and strengthening the Mvskoke language through engaging language instruction and cultural activities.
Camp Details:
Dates: Monday-Friday, June 8–12, 2026
Location: Sequoyah State Park, Hulbert, OK
Eligibility: MCN-enrolled students entering 7th–12th grade (must not be 18 before June 8, 2026)
Application Deadline: May 1, 2026, by 5:00 PM
Application Requirements: Completed application, copy of citizenship card, and a 200-word essay on the importance of preserving the Mvskoke language

MLP is partnering with the Native Youth Community Project (NYCP) and College of Muscogee Nation - Extension Program in hosting a Mvskoke Language Spelling Bee for adults on Monday, June 22nd, 2026.
