The letters in green are what we call 'trick letters'. These letters are the ones that don't quite sound the way they do in English, so they often trick learners.

 

Make sure to study these extra hard to be sure your learning the right pronunciation.

 

Keep in mind that most Mvskoke speakers won't write the E with a line and the E without a line any differently--they'll just write E. You have to learn and memorize when words use the long E (the one with the line) or short E (the one without the line).
